Charlie McConnachie is responsible for leading and managing our team of practice nurses. She works closely with the GPs and with Christine, the Practice Manager, to deliver a high standard of nursing care to our patients.

Our Nurses can advise you on a wide variety of health problems and preventive health including advice on smoking cessation and weight loss. They work very closely with the doctors in certain clinical areas (asthma, diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease etc) and also work independently, carrying out services such as childhood immunisations, women’s health screening and wound management and are trained to carry out an extensive range of tests and procedures, blood tests, BP monitoring and suture removal.
Appointments with the practice nurse can be made by contacting the care navigation team.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and ECGs. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
