We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases and offer a wide variety of medical services.

Other Services

Maternity Medical Services

All the doctors provide antenatal and postnatal care shared with our community midwife who is also available to be seen at clinics within the health centre.   Appointments can be arranged through the care navigation team.  The community midwife in partnership with the health visiting team organise antenatal education as appropriate.

Contraceptive Services

All the doctors in this practice provide routine contraceptive services/advice. Specialist services such as IUCD insertion and contraceptive implants are also available. The practice offers advice on long acting reversible contraception. Pre-assessment and counselling is required prior to arranging insertion. Further information can be obtained from the care navigation team.

A baby clinic is held every Tuesday afternoon between 14:00 – 16:00 with the health visiting team. Please note that this clinic is for well babies. Child development assessment clinics are also run by both doctors and health visitors. These are arranged by appointment.

Routine Childhood Immunisations

These are offered according to the currently recommended schedules for infants and pre-school children. The health visitors carry out this service at the practice.

Cervical Screening/Women’s Health

This is carried out in accordance with National guidelines. From 6th June 2016, all women aged 25- 64 years are invited to attend for regular screening. The frequency will continue to be every three years from 25 – 49 years but will change to every five years for women aged 50 – 64 years.  Routine cervical smear appointments can be made with our practice nurses.  Please contact the care navigation team for details.

Patients with problems relating to women’s health e.g. menstrual disorder, vaginal discharge, breasts problems, etc are advised that is more appropriate to let the practice know through the eConsult service.

Minor Surgery

Some practices offer minor surgery clinics for the surgical treatment of a wide variety of skin lesions, cysts and problematic ingrown toenails. Patients are referred to this clinic after a consultation with one of the clinicians. 

Cryocautery

“Freeze therapy” for selected warts which have not responded to appropriate topical treatments with wart paints.  The clinician will refer for this treatment if required.
